Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, the reclining form of Lord Vishnu. It is the first of the Swayam Vyakta Kshetras (Self appeared) and the most important of the 108 Divya Desams (Vishnu temples). The temple is located on an island between the Kaveri and Kollidam rivers. The temple is within a huge complex on an area of 156 acres making it the largest functional temple complex in the world..
