Virupaksha temple in Hampi, Karnataka is dedicated to Lord Virupaksha, a form of Lord Shiva. This ancient temple, situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River is the abode of Lord Virupaksha who resides here with Devi Pampa, who is a form of Parvati Mata. Worship in this temple has continued uninterrupted since the 7th century CE. Hampi is one the earliest pilgrimages in India.
