Vijaya Vittala temple in Hampi is dedicated to Lord Vittala, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vittala is also known as Vithoba, mainly in Maharashtra. Though this temple is no longer used for worship, it is one of the most spectacular temples in Hampi. The temple complex has many other smaller shrines and a marketplace adjoining it.

This ancient temple, situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River is the abode of Lord Virupaksha who resides here with Devi Pampa, who is a form of Parvati Mata. Worship in this temple has continued uninterrupted since the 7th century CE. Hampi is one the earliest pilgrimages in India.
