Navagraha Puja at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a sacred ritual dedicated to the nine celestial planets – Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangala (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu, and Ketu. The Navagraha Puja at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple begins with a purification bath by devotees, followed by wearing clean traditional clothes. The ritual starts with Ganapathi Puja to remove obstacles and a Sankalpam, where the devotee states their purpose for performing the puja. The priests then perform individual archana and abhishekam to the Navagraha deities – Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu – using water, milk, curd, honey, coconut water, and sandalwood paste. Each planet is worshipped with specific mantras, flowers, and naivedyam (offerings). After this, a Navagraha Homam is conducted with Vedic chanting, offering nine types of grains into the fire, each representing a planet. The puja concludes with Deepa Aradhana, prasadam distribution, and blessings. Devotees are advised to sit silently and absorb the vibrations.
