Sri Satya Narayana Swamy Vratham - Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

Sri Satya Narayana Swamy Vratham is a highly auspicious and popular ritual performed at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple with great devotion. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Satya Narayana form, this vratham is observed to seek divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and fulfillment of desires. The vratham is usually performed on Purnima (full moon day), Ekadashi, or special family occasions like marriage, housewarming, or childbirth. At this temple, the ritual is conducted in a spiritually vibrant atmosphere, led by experienced priests. The puja involves the worship of Lord Satya Narayana along with narration of the sacred Satya Narayana Katha in five chapters, which highlight the importance of truth, devotion, and righteousness. Devotees offer prasad made of rava (sooji), sugar, ghee, banana, and milk. Participating in this vratham at the temple is believed to remove obstacles, grant success, and bring divine protection and spiritual well-being to families and individuals.

The puja begins with Ganapati Puja to remove obstacles, followed by Kalasha Sthapana with water, mango leaves, and coconut. The idol or image of Sri Satya Narayana Swamy is placed and decorated with flowers and turmeric. Devotees perform Panchamrit Abhishekam (milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar) and offer sandalwood paste, kumkum, flowers, and incense. The highlight of the vratham is the Satya Narayana Katha, which consists of five chapters narrating the divine leelas of Lord Vishnu, recited with devotion. After each chapter, naivedyam (rava prasadam) and banana are offered. A deepa aarti is performed with camphor and oil lamps. Devotees and family members take blessings by sprinkling Kalasha water. The vratham concludes with a mangal aarti and distribution of prasadam. Fasting or consuming only prasadam is usually observed. Performing this vratham with sincerity ensures peace, prosperity, removal of past sins, and fulfillment of all rightful desires.
