Sri Swamy Vaari Uuregimpu Seva - Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

About
Sri Swamy Vari Uuregimpu Seva is a sacred temple ritual where the Utsava Murti (processional deity) of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is taken on a grand procession through the temple streets (Mada veedhulu). This seva symbolizes the Lord visiting his devotees and blessing the entire town or village. The idol is richly adorned with jewels, garlands, and colorful garments, and carried on a decorated palanquin or chariot, accompanied by Vedic chanting, Nadaswaram music, and devotional singing. Devotees line the streets to offer arati, flowers, and prayers as the Lord passes by. This ritual fosters a sense of divine presence and spiritual upliftment in the community. Uuregimpu Seva is usually conducted during major festivals or annual Brahmotsavams and is believed to cleanse the environment of negative energies. Participating in or witnessing this seva is said to bestow blessings of protection, prosperity, health, and grace from Lord Narasimha Swamy.
The Uuregimpu Seva vidhi begins with the Sankalpam, where priests invoke the deity’s blessings and announce the purpose of the procession. The Utsava Murti of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is then carefully bathed (abhishekam), decorated with grand alankaram (jewelry, silk garments, garlands), and placed on a pallaki (palanquin) or ratha (chariot). Before the procession starts, mangala harathi is offered, and Nadaswaram or temple music begins playing. The Lord is then taken on a processional route through the streets around the temple (Mada veedhulu), symbolizing his visit to bless all devotees and purify the surroundings. Devotees offer flowers, coconut, camphor, and incense as the Lord passes by. Priests chant Vedic mantras, and the devotees sing bhajans. The seva concludes with the Lord’s return to the sanctum and offering of final harathi and naivedyam. This ritual promotes divine presence and is believed to bring protection, peace, and prosperity to the entire community.
