The Navchnadi path is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The word "Navchandi" is a combination of two words: "Nav" means nine, and "Chandi" is the fierce form of Goddess Durga. Navchandi Path is also known as Mahatmyam or Durga Saptshati Path. The Navchandi path explains the glorifying of the victory of Goddess Durga over the Mahishasur. The Navchandi path involves reciting powerful Saptashati mantras. It involves recitation of 13 chapters of the Durga Saptashati path.

At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then the invoking of Goddess Durga is done with the help of prayers and mantras that are chanted by the pujari. Then Lord Ganesh is worshipped to remove hurdles that might happen during the puja. Then pujariji starts reading of the 13 navchandi paths. At last, aarti is done of all the gods, and their blessings are taken.
