Girijatmaj Ganpati Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples in Maharashtra. The temple is also known as Girijatmaj Temple. It gets its name from the words Girija as Parvathi and Atmaj as a son of Parvati. This is the only Ashtavinayak temple that is on a mountain. The temple is carved out of a single stone hill, which has 307 to 315 steps. It is approached after climbing steps, Out of 18 Buddhist caves in the mountain, Girijatmaj Ganpati Temple is in the 8th cave. These are called Ganesh leni as well. This cave is very cool in every weather and this cave is very clean. Outside the caves, cool water falls from the mountain. The temple celebrates the usual festivals associated with Ganesha, Ganesh Jayanti and Ganesh Chaturthi. At the time of Ganesh Jayanti, the temple is decorated with flowers and lighting.
