Prambanan Temple is a famous Hindu temple complex located on the island of Java, Indonesia, built in the 9th century. The temple is dedicated to the Trimurti, which represents the three major deities in Hinduism - Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer). Prambanan Temple is a grand and historic Hindu temple located on the island of Java, Indonesia. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma and is considered the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. The Prambanan temple complex has more than 240 temples, including the three main temples (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) and the temples of their vehicles (Nandi, Swan and Garuda). Construction period: 9th century (about 850 AD) Builder: Rakai Pikatan, who was the ruler of the Mataram Kingdom. The temple is just a short distance from the Buddhist Borobudur temple, reflecting the coexistence of Hinduism and Buddhism in the region.
