Sri Kalabhairava Swamy Temple at Adichunchanagiri is located in Mandya district of Karnataka state. This temple comes under the Adichunchanagiri Math, which is a major religious and cultural center. Sri Kalabhairava Swamy Temple has a very old history and this temple is dedicated to Lord Kalabhairava, who is considered to be a form of Lord Shiva. This temple was established by Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, the founder of Adichunchanagiri Math. The aim of the temple is to provide peace, prosperity and spiritual advancement to the devotees. The main deity of the temple is Lord Kalabhairava. Daily worship, special rituals and festivals are held in the temple. Major festivals in the temple include Mahashivratri, Kalabhairava Jayanti and Navratri. Special puja and abhishek arrangements are available for the devotees. Adichunchanagiri Math is one of the major religious centers of Karnataka. This Math is the center of worshipers of Lord Shiva and traditionally the Vedas, scriptures and Sanskrit are taught here. Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, the head of the monastery, has promoted religious and social work in the region. Special pujas and abhishek arrangements are available for the devotees. The sanctum sanctorum is built on an elevated pedestal. The Dwarapalakas are clearly visible from this place, as well as the entrance. There is also a clearly defined path to surround the temple. The temple is made up of 128 pillars on which many deities and their chariots are depicted. The intricate architecture of this place also attracts enthusiasts. This temple is surrounded by rocks, so even during the afternoon, devotees have to bring candles for darshan. Apart from this, this temple also has a dog statue of the Lord.
