Sri Pochamma Thalli Alayam Hyderabad

About Sri Pochamma Thalli Alayam Hyderabad

Nestled in the vibrant heritage of Telangana, Sri Pochamma Thalli Aalayam (also known as Yellamma-Pochamma Temple) is a beloved Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Pochamma – a local form of Shakti revered as the protector of villages and homes. The temple is part of the revered Sri Yellamma Pochamma Devasthanam at Balkampet, in which Pochamma is honoured in a smaller southern shrine, complementing the main underground shrine of goddess Yellamma. Historical and Architectural Highlights Built in the 15th century, the temple originated around a discovered rock on which lies a self-created idol - 'Swayambhu' - which was found during the digging of a well, about 10 feet below the ground. The current structure, completed around 1919 during the reign of the Nizam, features folk-influenced South Indian art
