Shri Vitthal Rukmini Sansthan, which is part of the Shri Vitthal Rukmini Temple in Pandharpur, is a major Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vitthal and his wife Rukmini. It is located on the banks of the Bhima River in Solapur district of Maharashtra. The temple attracts millions of devotees, especially during Ashadhi Ekadashi. Shri Vitthal Rukmini Sansthan, also known as Pandharpur of Southern India, is a major devotional center located in Govindapuram in the city of Kumbakonam in the state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shri Vitthal (Vithoba of Pandharpur) and his wife Rukmini Devi. The Sansthan was founded in 1998 by Brahmashri Vithaldas Jayakrishna Dikshitar. He chose this place to propagate devotion and Namsmarana. Govindapuram is the holy land where the living samadhi of Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendra Swamiji is located, who was the 59th Peethadheeswar of Sri Kanchi Matha. This place is considered extremely important for devotion and meditation. The institution is spread over an area of about 32,000 square feet and has two floors. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple is spread over an area of 1000 square feet, where the idols of Lord Vitthal and Rukmini are enshrined. Ardha Mandapam, Maha Mandapam, Vasantha Mandapam These Mandapams provide places of worship and meditation for the devotees. The temple has a cowshed named Govindapuram Goshala. More than 1000 cows are taken care of here, and Go Puja is conducted twice daily. The institution is dedicated to the study and preservation of the Vedas, with teachings of various Veda branches being imparted. Regarding the main festivals and rituals of the temple, it is said that the following major festivals are celebrated with great pomp in the institute - Ram Navami, Ashadha Ekadashi and Warkari Pand Yatra, Kumbhabhishekam, Govardhan Puja, Krishna Janmashtami, Kartik Ekadashi, special worship, kirtan and bhajan evenings are organized during these festivals. There is a provision for accommodation of more than 1200 devotees, which includes air-conditioned rooms, canteen and other facilities. This is an institute dedicated to the study and training of Vedas, where students are taught Vedas. The institute has become a major destination for religious tourism, where devotees come from all over the country and abroad.
