About Arulmigu Nellaiappar Temple

The Arulmigu Nellaiappar Temple is located in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shiva is worshipped as the lingam-represented Nellaiappar (also known as Venuvananathar) and his spouse Parvati is represented as the Kanthimathi Amman. The Pandyas are thought to have constructed the first complex and then the Cholas, Pallavas, Cheras and Madurai Nayaks built the current masonry structure. Aani Brahmostavam, Aadi Puram and Avani Mula Utsavam are important festival celebrations at this temple. The best time to visit this temple is between October and February.
