Madya Maheshwar

Madhya Maheshwar, or Madmaheshwar, is one of the panch kedar temples. Located in Gaundar, a village in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The middle part of the belly or navel, of Lord Shiva is worshipped here by the devotees. It is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas, after the Hindu epic war, the Mahabharata. Mahashivratri and Dussehra are the main festivals celebrated at this temple. The best time to visit this temple is between May and October.
