Pind daan as per Hindu belief is a ritual to offer homage to the departed soul.


Puja Preparation


According to Ramayan, Lord Ram along with Mata Sita and Lord Laxman did the Pind Daan of their father Raja Dashrath in Gaya. To give peace and moksh to their father’s soul.

How is it Performed

Pind daan is done after taking a bath. It is required to wear white holy clothes during shradh karma like traditional dhotis, kurta, etc. Pind daan is done offering rice, jaggery, sweets, etc under the guidance and mantras of brahmins.

It is done for the shanti of the soul of our loved ones. Pind daan the souls are relieved from the process of life and death and they attain moksh. It also gives blessings of our ancestors and brings prosperity and well being in the family.
