Procedure

According to Ramayan, Lord Ram along with Mata Sita and Lord Laxman did the Pind Daan of their father Raja Dashrath in Gaya. To give peace and moksh to their father’s soul.

How is it Performed

Pind daan is done after taking a bath. It is required to wear white holy clothes during shradh karma like traditional dhotis, kurta, etc. Pind daan is done offering rice, jaggery, sweets, etc under the guidance and mantras of brahmins.
