Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial

Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial and temple is a tribute to Swami Vivekananda the great Saint, Philosopher and chief disciple of Paramhansa Ramakrishna. This project was visualised by a group of Swami Vivekananda’s followers in January, 1962 on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Initially there was some opposition and lack of political will, but it was overcome. In 1970  the memorial was inaugurated and dedicated to the nation.
