Bhimashankar - Laghu Rudrabhishek

Maha Puja in Bhimashankar is a ritual involving the worship of the deity. The word "Maha" means great and "Puja" means worship. Several prayers and mantras are chanted offering various items like flowers, fruits, sweets, etc. The Mahapuja has mainly three pujas or step covers i.e. Shodosopchar puja, Panchamrut Puja and Rudra Lesson. Shodosopchar Puja is the Puja of 16 Mantras mentioned in Purushsukta. Puja is performed by this 16 Mantra.

Ekadashi Rudrabhishek in Bhimashankar is one of the most popular Vedic Hindu Rituals performed to appease the God of the Gods, Lord Shiva. This auspicious puja is dedicated to Lord Rudra who is one among 108 different avatars of Lord Shiva. The Puja is one of the major means to remove the evils. This puja takes place according to the Vedic scriptures.

Abhishek Puja in Bhimashankar is a Hindu ritual where water is offered with other items on the lingam. The puja is mostly performed in the temples. Panchamrita Abhishek in Bhimashankar is a Hindu ritual puja where five liquids are poured over the deities and mantras are chanted. It is a combination of two words i.e.., Pancha which means five and Amrita which means nectar. The five main ingredients are used to make Panchamrita including milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar. These all are mixed together. Mantras are chanted throughout the process and once the puja is completed, the Panchamrut is distributed as prasad.
