"Ganpati Sukt" is dedicated to Lord Ganesh, who is the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. The word "Sukt" originated from sanskrit word. Sukt refers to a collection of mantras. The chanting of the Ganesh Sukt along with the abhishek is believed to please the Lord Ganesh and invoke blessings in the life of the devotees.
At first Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of Lord Ganesh is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. The central part of this puja is the recitation of Lord Ganesh Sukta mantra done by the pujariji. Than abhishek on Lord Ganesh is done with helps of things like Milk, Ganga Jal and Panchamrit. Then devotees seek blessings from Lord Ganesh.
