About
"Homam" or "Hawan" is a ritual involving a fire ceremoney where offerings are made into sacred fire. The fire in the homam is represent Agni and the fire God. It is believed to the offerings to the deities. It is belived that Lord Dattatreya is incarnation of the hindu trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. In this ritual offering is done to get blessing of Lord Dattatreya.
At first sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees.Then invoking Lord Dattatreya is is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Than Hawan is performed by the pujari and ahuti is done with helps of things like Ghee, Akshat and Sesame. At last, arti is done by the pujari and blessings are taken by the devotees.
