About The Mahabodhi Temple

Mahabodhi Temple, one of the holiest sites of Buddhism, marks the spot of the Buddha’s Enlightenment. It is located in Bodh Gaya, on the banks of the Niranjana River. The Bodhi tree at Bodh Gaya is directly connected to the life of the Buddha. It is constructed of brick and is one of the oldest brick structures. Buddha Jayanti is an important festival celebrated on Vaisakh Full Moon Day in this temple. Visit this temple between November to February.
