Nagbali Puja Vidhi starts with Sankalp, Nyasa and Kalash Pujan. Following this, the rituals for Lord Surya, Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu are performed. Then, the five gods, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Yama and Tatpurush are worshipped.

Narayan Nagbali Puja's ritual is similar to that performed during funeral rites. All the mantras chanted during the puja invoke the unsatisfied desires of the souls of the ancestors. This is because funeral rites are said to release souls from the other world.

This Narayan Nagbali Puja requires a total duration of 3 days and on the first day, the devotee has to take a bath in the holy Kushavarta Kund (Kushavarta pond) and then take a pledge to donate ten things, i.e., "Dashdaan."

After performing the worship of Lord Shiva, all the devotees have to go to Dharamshala to perform the Narayan Nagbali Puja. The Narayan Nagbali Puja is performed for two days at the confluence of the Godavari and Ahalya rivers.

Then Agni Sthapana, Purushsukta Havan, Ekadashi Vishnu Shraddha, Panchdevata Shraddha Balidan, Pind Daan, Parashar and Dwadasha Karma are performed, respectively. After performing this ritual, worshippers cannot touch anyone, i.e., they must observe Sutak for a day.

Keeping all such issues in mind, this Narayan Nagbali Puja ritual is performed to remove health problems, family problems, or if one gets killed or bitten by a snake.
