Atharvashirsha is a Vedic prayer dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Atharvashirsha is a Sanskrit word. Atharvashirsha was founded in Atharva Veda. It is believed that Atharvashirsha path was written by rishi Atharva. 

Lord Ganesh is a son of Lord Mahadeva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesh is Lord of fortune and he is also known as "Vighanharta". "Atharvashirsha" word derived from Sanskrit language. It is beleived that the Atrhvashirsh path was written by Athrva Rishi and this path is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Reciting Athrvashirsha path is very beneficial for devotees.

Offering Durva Grass to Lord Ganesh is very auspicious. It is beleived that Durva grass attracts the energy of Lord Ganesh.
