Gau Daan

As per Vedic scriptures, Gau Puja is considered very meritorious in Kali Yuga. The puja is performed to remember the importance of the cow. In Vedic scriptures, Gau or Cow are awarded with a very holy and special status which is of a mother and therefore they are called Gau-Mata. It is said that one who performs Gau Puja gets the blessings of Lord Krishna. It is believed that all the Hindu Gods live inside a Cow so worshipping them has a lot of importance. Doing this puja in Rameswaram is beneficial.

Gau means Cow and Daan means Donation. The cow is one of the most important animals in the Hindu religion. Cows are always addressed as Mata which means mother in the Hindu religion.
