Puja at Deoghar

Deoghar is the only jyotirlinga in the world where Lord Shiva resides in the heart of Goddess Sati. The Gathbandhan puja performed here has a lot of significance and importance. It is believed that by offering this puja a couple is blessed with happiness and blissful married life by Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in the same way as Parents do. This ritual is for both newlywed and married couples.

Rudra Abhishek is a significant and sacred Vedic ritual performed to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. This puja includes the bathing of Lord Shiva along with chanting of mantras with items like Panchamrit, Milk and other sacred items. It is believed that doing this puja helps in making Lord Shiva happy. Doing this puja in Deoghar is auspicious.

Jal Abhishek is a Hindu ritual where the offering of water is done on lingam. This puja is mostly performed in the temples. During puja in Deoghar, various mantras are also chanted. Jal Abhishek is performed to invoke the blessings of Rudra the form of Lord Shiva.

Mundan Sanskar is also known as Chuda karm. The Mundan Sanskar of girl is called chaula karma. This ritual is always performed in the most auspicious muhrat. In this ritual person's hair is completely shaved off, and it is believed that the hair on the head of the person is impure, and shaving it will free the person from all the sins and negativity. This puja is performed in Deoghar.

Yagnopavit which is also known as Janoi is a ceremony where a young boy is given a sacred thread that represents the commitment to leading a disciplined and spiritual life. The Yagnopavit Sanskar involves various rituals and mantras. Performing this puja in Deoghar is very auspicious.

The word Shringar is a sanskrit word "Shringar" means beautification and puja means worship of the deity. In this puja Lord shiva is adorned with various items as part of the ritual. In this includes worship of a flag raised on the temple. Dhwaja puja is a medium through which divine blessings can invoked. It is beleived that Dhwaja attracts positive cosmic force. 

Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap is a powerful jaap dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also known as Rudra Mantra which is chanted for various purposes like protection, good health and overcoming the fear of death. Maha Mritunjaya Jap involves repeating jaaps and mantras several times. Maha Mrityunjay Jaap is also known as "Tryambakam Matra" as per Rigveda.
