Kaal Bhairav day is observed every month on Krishna Paksha Ashtami (the eighth day of the dark fortnight). The main celebration, Kaal Bhairav Jayanti, is held in the month of Margashirsha (November - December). On this day devotees visit temples and offer special prayers to Lord Shiva.
