In Haridwar, this ceremony takes place in the River Gange . this is considered as one of the most important final ritual to ensure that the soul gets Moksha (liberation). submerge the ashes here is believed that it is done for purifying the soul of past sins and break the cycle of birth and rebirth
At first, the Asthi Visarjan Puja is performed with all the rituals mentioned in the Vedas. The priest guides the family in offering prayers and chanting mantras for the peace of the departed soul. After completing the rituals, the ashes (asthi) are respectfully immersed into the holy river, symbolizing the final journey of the soul towards liberation and eternal peace in the divine realm.
