Laghu Rudrabhishek is a ritual in which the divine energy of Lord Shiva is worshipped and invoked. "Rudrabhishek" literally means "applying ritual materials to Rudra". It involves chanting mantras and applying a mixture of holy materials on the Shiva Linga. In this ritual, Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar) is offered on the Shiva Linga.
At, first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then Panditji invokes Lord Shiva with the help of mantras. These mantras are Rudra Suktha. After bathing the Shiva Linga, the priest purifies it with a mixture of curd, honey, cow's milk, sugarcane, rice, and other items.
