About
In Hinduism, the Dhaja holds great spiritual importance. It is a symbol of victory, honour, strength, and divine presence. The flag represents the blessings and protection of the gods. Placing or offering a Dhaja at a temple is considered very auspicious, as it brings good fortune, success, and positive energy. Devotees believe that by offering a Dhaja, they receive divine grace and protection from negative forces in their lives.
At first, Sankalp (a sacred vow) is taken in the name of the devotees to seek divine blessings. Then, the puja of the Dhaja (flag) is performed by the pujari ji (priest) with devotion, chanting mantras and offering flowers. After the puja, the Dhaja is respectfully hoisted on the temple top, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and inviting divine protection, prosperity, and peace into the lives of the devotees.
