A Ganapati havan which is also known as Ganapati homan is very powerful Vedic fire ritual which is dedicated to ganesh dev which is known as the vighnaharta or remover of obstacles. traditionally it is the First ritual perfomed before the any other ceremony, new venture, or housewarming to ensure success and peace.if you are doing this puja at home in the north-east corner (ishanya) of the house is Considered as the most auspicious spot for the havan kund. the person who will perform the havan should have face on the east side.
The devotee has to face on the east side then have to clear the havan kund and have to arrange dry wood with camphor with keeping havan samagri ready. devotee has to sip water three times which is also Called achaman. then the devotee has to take Sankalp. after taking Sankalp the fire is lighten up and then 3 drops of ghee is offered saying om agnaye swaha. chant the following mantra 21 or 108 times. each Time you say swaha pour a small spoonful of ghee or a pinch of samagri into the fire with chanting of om gam ganapataye swaha. in last the final piece of dry coconut and remaining ghee is offered and arti is Performed with the lamp.
