About
The Tripindi Shradh Puja is an important ritual performed in Gaya to bring peace to the departed souls of ancestors who may have left the world with unfulfilled desires or without proper last rites. Performing this puja helps remove Pitru Dosh and liberates the souls from the cycle of birth and death.
This puja involves offering three Pindas (made of rice, sesame seeds, jaggery, and ghee) to three generations of ancestors. In Gaya, the ritual is performed at the sacred Vishnupad Temple and the banks of the Phalgu River, where Lord Vishnu himself is believed to have granted salvation to the ancestors of Lord Rama.
