Chandi is another name of Goddess Durga. Sat Means"Truth" Chandi Means “Goddess Chandi or Chandrika”. Shat chandi hawan is dedicated to Goddess Chandi the Shat chandi path is a ritual that involves reciting of Durga Saptashati path 100 times. This chandi path contains 700 shloks and It is believed that the chandi path verses  is from Markandey puran. Surga Saptashati path is considered as one of the most powerful hawan to removes problems.  

Nav means “Nine” and Chandi refers to Chandika meaning “The Fierce” –another form of Goddess Durga who represents the Shakti power of Durga Saptashati. It consists of 700 verses that narrate the story of the goddess and her battle against the buffalo demon, Mahishasura.
