Narmada Sahastrarchan Puja is a ritual involving worship and offering devotion to the Narmada River in Amarkantak. Sahastrarchan means performing worship with various offerings like flowers, fruits, incense, etc and chanting of mantras. Devotees seek blessings, purification and spiritual upliftment by connecting to the Narmada River.
At first, devotees take a bath in the holy river before performing Narmada Sahastrarchan. Then Lord Ganesh's idol is established and then Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then pujariji performs Shodshopachar puja and offers 1008 Ahuti to Goddess Narmada and then things like Flower, Akshat etc. are offered to Goddess Narmada. At last, arti is done by the pujari and the blessings are taken by the devotees.
