About
The "Shodshopachar" word is a combination of two words "Shod" means sixteen and "Upchar" means offerings. In this ritual, Lord Shiva is worshipped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Pauranik Mantras during the puja. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva in Kedarnath by offering all 16 things while chanting mantras is known as Shodshopachar puja.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then abhishek of Lord Shiva is done along with the chanting of the mantras. All the 16 Mantras are chanted along with Puranik Mantras. Then the blessings of Lord Shiva are taken and the puja is completed.
