Medha Dakshinamurthy Homam [28-05-2026]

Medha Dakshinamurthy Homam is a dedicated Vedic ritual in the worship of Lord Dakshinamurthy, a profound manifestation of Lord Shiva as the divine guru and embodiment of higher knowledge, intelligence (medha) and spiritual awareness. This is a very powerful homam for students, academicians, teachers, professionals and anyone else who wants to learn and gain insight. The purpose of this Homam is to seek divine blessings for better memory, mental clarity, sharp mind and academic or intellectual success.

Installation of the sacred Kalash, sanctifying the area with Punyahavachanam and invoking Lord Ganesha through Ganapati puja to remove obstacles are all the stages of the ritual. During the main Homa, 108 or 1008 oblations or offerings are made to the fire, along with chanting of the Sri Dakshinamurthy Moola Mantra, "Om Namo Bhagwate Dakshinamurtaye Mahyam Medha Prayachchha Swaha". The ceremony is made more energetic by sacred mantras like Medha Suktam and Dakshinamurthy Stotram.
