About

"Gau Khati Puja" translates to "cow slaughter worship" or "cow sacrifice worship" in English. It refers to a religious ritual in Hinduism focused on atonement or purification for the sin of cow slaughter. Cow slaughter is considered a serious sin in Hinduism due to the sacred status of the cow and its association with deities such as Krishna and Lakshmi. There is no such thing as "gau khati puja" in any authoritative Hindu scripture or practice. Instead, Hinduism promotes a deep reverence, care, and protection of cows. If you have seen or heard this term somewhere, feel free to share more context - I can help clarify or correct it.

Gau Hatya (killing of a cow) is considered a very serious sin, and there are methods of atonement and special worship to avoid it. To get rid of the sin of cow slaughter, one must seek alms in 8 villages and serve a cow during this time, in the worship first make a Sankalp and then worship Gau Mata and then chant mantras and then offer four offerings to Gau Shala Maa. Forgiveness for past karmic mistakes, Peace of mind and soul purification, Restoration of Dharma, Blessings from Gau Mata (divine mother)
