About

Havan is a traditional ritual of making offerings into a consecrated fire. Havans hold a special place in Hindu religious and cultural traditions, and they are believed to have the power to purify and harmonize the environment, the participants, and their intentions. Fire symbolizes purity and transformation. It is seen as a purifying force that consumes impurities and carries offerings to the divine. The smoke rising from the fire is believed to carry prayers and offerings to the gods. The offerings represent one's gratitude, devotion, and the desire for blessings.

In Havan Puja at Nalateswari Temple, the priest begins with a Sankalp for devotees’ wishes. Goddess Nalateswari is invoked with mantras, followed by offering ghee, grains, and herbs into the sacred fire. Devotees chant prayers, seek blessings, and end the puja with aarti for peace and prosperity.
