Asthi visarjan is considered one of the most important religious rituals in Sanatan Dharma. Asthi Visarjan is a ritual that involves the ashes (asthi) of a deceased person into the holy river water. This puja is an important part of the antim sanskar. During Asthi Visarjan Puja family members conduct prayer for the good journey to their afterlife, chant Mantras and take blessings from the soul. The true meaning of positive karma is expressed through Asthi visarjan.

Then puja is done of the ashes of the deceased person following all the proper Vedic rituals, mantras are chanted by the pujari while doing the puja. Then the pouring of the ashes in the water is done by the devotees with the help of the pujari and the ritual is completed by taking the blessings.
