Alopi Sankari Devi Shakti Peeth Temple is located near Alopi Bagh of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, it is one of the Shaktipeethas of India and among the must visit temples in Prayagraj (Allahabad). Alopi Devi Mandir is a special temple where no idol of the mother or a mark of any organ has been kept only you can see a cradle hanging on the spot that is worshipped as the representation of Alopi Devi, that is why this Siddhapeeth has been named as Alop Shankari and a cradle has been placed here as a symbol. According to belief, Alopi Mata is the bride who disappeared from the wooden cot when the marriage procession was attacked by a group of robbers. The strange disappearance of the bride was marked as a miracle and a temple was built at the same site to worship the divine bride. There lies a wooden cot in the shrine, also known as the doli of the new bride.
