About Arunachaleswarar Temple
Arunachalesvara Temple is located on Arunachala Hill in the town of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also called Annamalaiyar Temple. As one of the temples connected to the five elements, the Pancha Bhuta Sthalams, and especially the element of fire, or Agni, it holds special significance for the Hindu Shaivism religion. The idol of Shiva, known as Agni lingam, is worshipped as Arunachalesvara or Annamalaiyar. Karthikai Deepam is an important festival for this temple. The best time to visit this temple is from December to February.
