In Vedas and Puranas, Himachal Pradesh is known as Dev Bhoomi. There are many temples of Lord Shiva and one of these temples is Baba Bhootnath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Mandi city of Himachal Pradesh also known as Chota Kashi. The Bhoothnath temple was built in 1527 A.D. by Raja Ajwer Sen. The festival of Shivratri is celebrated with enthusiasm at Baba Bhootnath temple and the month of Shravan is also considered of special importance.
