Mata Sati sacrificed herself in King Daksha’s Yagya as Daksha insulted her husband Lord Shiva. After this, Shri Vishnu cut her body into different parts with his Sudarshana Chakra. It is believed that Mata Sati’s chin had fallen in this place in Nashik where she appeared in the form of Mata Bhadrakali.
