Dambulla Cave Temple, also called the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a famous Buddhist site in central Sri Lanka. It is built inside large rock caves and is known for its beautiful Buddha statues and colorful wall paintings that show stories from Buddha’s life. The temple complex has over 80 caves, but five main caves are open to visitors, filled with statues of Buddha, kings, and gods. People visit to pray, meditate, and admire the art and history. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and reflects Sri Lanka’s rich religious and cultural heritage.
