Sri Jagdambika Ammavari Temple, also known as Devi Jagdambi Temple, is a prominent Hindu temple located in Khajuraho, Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. It is part of the famous Khajuraho complex of monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its intricate sculptures and Nagar-style architecture. Built by the Chandela dynasty around the 11th century, the temple was originally dedicated to Lord Vishnu but was later converted into a temple for Goddess Parvati, who is worshiped here as Jagadambika, the World Mother. The temple is richly decorated with carvings depicting gods, goddesses, celestial bodies and mythological scenes. The sanctum sanctorum houses the image of the Goddess, which reflects the divine feminine energy and power. It is located adjacent to the famous Kandaria Mahadev Temple and is a major spiritual and architectural attraction for devotees and tourists.
