About Guhyeshwari Shaktipeeth Temple Kathmandu

The Guhyeshwari Shaktipeeth Temple is located on the southern bank of the Bagmati River, Kathmandu, Nepal. The Guhyeshwari also pronouns as Guheswari or Gujeshwari. Guhyeshwari Shaktipeeth is dedicated to Goddess Guhyeshwari, one of the 51 Shakti peeths of Sati. Guhyeshwari Devi is also known as the "Nairatma" yogini, one of the most important yoginis of Buddhism. The word Gyuheshwari originates from the Sanskrit words Guhya, meaning secret, and ishwari, meaning goddess. This name was found in Lalita Shastranam; it is mentioned as "Guhyarupini." Navaratri, Durga Ashtami, Shivratri, and Dashain are the major festivals that are celebrated at the Guhyeshwari Devi temple.
