Iputhou Pakhangba Laishang

The temple is situated in the kangla fort complex located in the western bank of the imphal river, Imphal district, Manipur. this temple is dedicated to lord pakhangba. this site is established during the reign of nongda lairen pakhangba, for centuries it served as the core religious site for Meitei kings who were often considered earthly incarnations of the divine. at the time of the anglo-manipur war, the fort was occupied by britiesh and later Indian security forces(assam riflies), restricting public access to the sacred grounds. Mera Hou Chongba, mera chaorel houba,  cheiraoba, pakhanba cheng hongba and lai haraoba are the major festivals celebrated here.
