About Janaki Mandir

Janaki Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Sita, the temple is located in Janakpurdham, Nepal. This temple is an example of Koiri Hindu architecture. The temple is famous as the Nau Lakha Mandir, the cost of construcation of the temple was about the same amount of Gold Coins. It is beleived that Queen Vrishna Bhanu of Orchha sate built the temple in 1910. Many devotees visit the temple during the festivals of Ram Nawami, Vivaha Panchami, Dashain and Tihar.
