Jai Sikotar Maa Temple, also known as Vahanvati Mata Temple, is located near the sea, about 7 km from Khambhat, in Ralej village. The temple is very old, over 900 years old, and people believe that its history is over 2,000 years old. Maa Sikotar is known as the goddess who protects sailors and seafarers. A tall copper pillar with a lamp near the temple used to help guide lost boats safely in the olden days. The temple area is peaceful and has a Shiva temple, a garden, a play area for children, and a parking lot. Major festivals like Navratri and Purnima are celebrated here with Garba and free food for all. People believe that the goddess blesses them with children and keeps them safe. The temple also has rooms and prasad for visitors. The festival of Navratri is celebrated with great pomp in the temple, in which prasad is also given to the devotees. Devotees participate in traditional Garba and Raas dances every night, and the atmosphere is filled with devotion and joy.
