About Kainchi Dham Temple Nainital
Kainchi Dham is a beautiful scheduled mountain ashram located between two hills that cut and cross each other to create the shape of scissors in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is a spiritual centre and ashram in the Kumon Hills. The first temple was inaugurated in June 1964 by Neem Karoli Baba, who is believed to be an avatar of Lord Hanuman. Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj Ji, is known for his wisdom and kindness, inspiring people from all over. The Ashram has three temples Neem Karoli Baba Maharaj Temple, Hanuman Temple and Vaishnavi. Neem Karoli Baba's followers believed that he had special powers and ability to help people. His teaching of love and simplicity attracts visitors. Western devotees also visited here including Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who visited here to find inspiration and clarity from the place. The Kainchi Dham is open year-round, however, the best time to visit Kainchi Dham Temple is from February until June. Kainchi Dham hosts numerous religious events and festivals throughout the year but the most significant being the Neem Karoli Baba's Bhandara held on the 15th of June. During this event, thousands of devotees gather to pay homage and participate in the distribution of prasad.
