Shree Kankeshwar Temple is the famous ancient temple located in Alibaug, Mapgaon, in Maharashtra. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees have to climb a total of 750 steps to reach the main shrine. Just next to the temple, there is an artificial lake. It is believed that the temple was built during the Rashtrakutan dynasty, while the Chalukya and Silhara dynasties have contributed to building the rest of its structure. Temples kalash is 100 to 200 years old. The shivling of the temple is huge, and it's coated with silver, and there is a big idol of Nandi seen standing in the door. This temple attracts thousands of devotees on the day of Maha Shivratri. Shravani Somvar Tripurari Purnima are the major festival that celebrated at Shri Kanekeshwar Mahadev temple.
