About Kolar Kotilingeshwara Temple

The Kotilingeshwara Temple is located in the village of Kammasandra of the Kolar village in Karnataka. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has one the Largest Shivling in the world. The main attraction of the temple is a huge Shiv Linga measuring 108 ft tall and 35 ft tall Nandi idol, surrounded by lakhs of small Lingas spread over an area of 15 acres. It is believed that the lingas were fist placed a atheist who than became a devotee of Lord Shiva.
